Dvr 212 problems updating the firmware

Our benchmarks show the 212 to be the best SATA burner around, and with a two-year warranty, you would be crazy to look at anything else.Hello Nick & Crew, On my Win7 WMC HTPC, I recently installed (Sunday) the newest software (corresponding to the new firmware - I try to upgrade both this PC and the firmware in tandem to keep things equal all around). The Mini 0805 comes with a quick mount that has electrical contacts built it.The mount is much improved over the Mini 0801 and early Mini 0803 which was quite wobbly / loose. The 212 automatically over-speeds Verbatim 16x media to 18x, however TDK media failed to over-speed, with TDK003 only burning at 16x on the 1.15 firmware. As with many other drives in the DVR series, TYG02 8x still burns at 12x with no problems.Alternatively, the Mini 0806 has a few more features for a slightly higher price which should be a consideration if you are looking for an affordable, discreet camera with screen and GPS. To see what other owners are saying, visit our Mini 0805 Forum.

Using IMGBurn and DVD Info Pro the drive was tested against media from Verbatim, TDK, Imation, and Taiyo Yuden.Great discreet form factor, improved video quality, runs at a lower temperature and at a price make this a great value.Reliability is the main wild card for this camera but initial feedback has been positive.Owners indicate the mount loosens up with repetitive installs / removals. Our member Mtz has created a video review here: The Mini 0805 is an evolutionary improvement over the Mini 0803 and Mini 0801.
